Rooted Radiance was born from lived experience, intuition, and a deep devotion to nourishment as both art and healing. Founder Debbie DeVico is an intuitive chef, restauranteur, holistic lifestyle educator, and culinary nutrition guide whose path was not only shaped in traditional classrooms, but through real kitchens, real families, and a lifelong personal wellness journey.
As a child, Debbie faced severe food allergies and later discovered she is celiac, lactose intolerant, and soy, corn, gliadins, peanuts and refined sugar intolerant—experiences that required her to become deeply attuned to ingredients, sourcing, and how food affects the body. What began as necessity became mastery. She studied holistic nutrition, dabbled in traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. Over time, she transformed these challenges into a gift: the ability to create meals that are as safe and supportive as they are beautiful and satisfying.
For more than nine years prior to Opening Sōl St Pete Bistro, Debbie worked as a personal chef, caterer, and conscious culinary educator, guiding clients toward vibrant, personalized nourishment. Her passion became even more meaningful as a mother raising three daughters— one adulting, one in college and the other about to fly the coop— who have food allergies. Supporting her own family strengthened her commitment to crafting meals that feel abundant, inclusive, and joyful for everyone at the table.
Today, Debbie is also the founder of a thriving gluten-free and seed-oil free, seasonal farm-to-table restaurant, Sōl St Pete Bistro, the only seasonal, farm-to-table, organic and seed-oil free boutique restaurant of its kind, where her philosophy comes to life through intimate vibes, friendly staff, thoughtfully sourced ingredients and chef-crafted dishes. Together with her husband, who helps run the restaurant, they prove that dietary needs never have to mean sacrifice. She also finds deep joy in consulting with retreats and restaurants around the world, helping them design conscious, sustainable hospitality systems and processes that align exceptional guest experiences with integrity, wellness, and mindful sourcing.
Through her signature Conscious Culinary approach, she helps clients reimagine the foods they love—adapted to their physiology, sensitivities, and wellness goals. Her mission is to empower others with the confidence, knowledge, and inspiration to nourish themselves in ways that restore balance, elevate vitality, and celebrate food without restriction.
